Folks from Aldersgate United Methodist Church gathered July 25 to praise God and all of God’s creation. Aldersgate is located on a magnificent campus on Route 17 in Rockland.

The Rev. Jacquelyn Brannen and the Rev. Joe Beardsly shared a message of praise and responsibility for the care of the environment. Worshipers relaxed in this natural setting and sang hymns accompanied by the birds, bees and other wildlife.

While some worshipers relaxed in lawn chairs, 5-year-old Matthew Brannen climbed trees and explored ant trails. The Rev. Beardsly, an avid environmentalist, shared simple ways to become better stewards of the environment. Further outdoor worship services will be offered during the summer and early fall months. A Blessing of the Animals is planned for August. For more information call the Rev. Brannen at 242-2770.
