Young readers that sign up for the Make Waves: Teen Summer Reading Program at the Rockland Public Library and log two books can win an iPod.

The library will hold the drawing Aug. 14. The prize is an Apple iPod, fifth generation, 16 GB, blue in color. The winner will also receive an accessory kit that includes a charger, carrying pouch, three silicone cases and more.

Come to the library, check out its exceptional array of best sellers, dive into newspapers and magazines, and jump into texts about nature and technology and biographies — genres that increase real-world knowledge. (The random vocabulary, facts and associations will make it easier to do well on tests such as the NAEP and SAT, and succeed in the workplace.)

Don’t have a library card yet? No problem; all Regional School Unit 13 students can receive a free library card. Just bring in an I.D. and staff can issue a library card in a couple of minutes.

The Rockland Public Library’s summer reading program is sponsored by Camden National Bank and The Friends of the Rockland Public Library. For more information call the library at 594-0310.
