Artist, author, lecturer and digital pioneer John Paul Caponigro will present a stunning collection of never-before-seen images in his annual open studio exhibit Saturday and Sunday, July 31 and Aug. 1 at Caponigro Arts, 73 Cross Road.

Everyone is cordially invited to tour Caponigro’s state-of-the-art studio and experience this new work: view prints and portfolios; hear the artist speak; and more. The popular even is for one weekend only with daily hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The artist will discuss his work daily at 2 p.m., sign books at 3 p.m. and post content online at 6 p.m. at Thereafter, private viewings may be scheduled by appointment only. Special preview discounts are available for a limited time.

It has been one of the artist’s most prolific years to date. Producing more than 100 new images, four bodies of work in progress for 10 years have been brought to completion. The results are surprising, even for the artist. Three new books featuring this work have been released – “Reflection,” “Condensation” and “Correspondence” – can be previewed and purchased online.

The artist’s separate bodies of work provide striking color contrasts displaying an extraordinarily broad palette. Whether hi spacious compositions are filled with shimmering iridescent whites, grays and blacks or bright, bold colors, they exude a lush sensuality, producing strong emotional responses and physical reactions. The latest printing technologies and media bring the artist’s work to light in a way never before achievable.

Just as each image in a series advances the other images to a shared outcome, each series also advances the other series moving them all toward complementary outcomes. The individual pieces and series are titled after processes and, when combined, the work reveals a larger process of developing awareness open for all to participate in, moving in stages from calming to clearing to illuminating.

Also on hand will be the artist’s playful iPhone photo sketches, which are featured in his column on the Huffington Post. He will even take, process and transmit some during his daily artist’s talks at 2 p.m.
