The Cause, a group of local high school musical all stars who perform together, will be performing Wednesday, July 28 from noon to 2 p.m. at Camden Amphitheatre, Atlantic Avenue. This performance is part of the Camden Parks & Recreation’s Wednesdays in the Park concert series.

The members of The Cause combine and recombine in solos, duos, trios and full ensemble, and membership is somewhat fluid, but the musicians one can expect to hear are Evan Bianchi, emcee and piano; Wyatt McLean, songwriter and guitarist; Aurora Stromberg and Maddie Chilton, vocal duos and more; Rick McClelland, Calvin Parent and Gage Lyons as Those Guys, playing traditional blues and more; Anna Rich, show tunes and combos; Sarah Palermo and Alice Limoges, vocals and songwriting and more; Emma Brown, choreography and dance; and Cole Barbour, rhythm guitar and vocals.

Many of the musicians will be familiar from performances and musicals at the high school and the Midcoast area. They perform an exciting mix of music from classical piano and acoustic guitar to traditional blues and show tunes with talent far beyond their years, according to guitarist Martin Gibson.

“Whatever the future holds for all of us, it is reassuring to know that the future of live music, original songwriting and vocal and instrumental virtuosity in Maine rests very securely in the hands of these performers,” he said.

The Cause concert is sponsored by VillageSoup and Elm Street Printing. The Wednesdays in the Park series is free to the public. In the event of rain, the show will be held in the Picker Room of Camden Public Library.
