Children are invited to come to the Project Puffin Visitors Center on Main Street Saturday, July 17 for a crafty afternoon that will start at 1 p.m. They will learn all about Project Puffin and be inspired to create a beautiful piece of artwork of their own.

At 1 p.m., children age 6 through 14 are invited to make a collage-style piece of artwork inspired by artist Paul Bartlett, whose works are on display in the center. Staff members will be available to lend a hand. At 2 p.m., author/ illustrator Jeannie Brett will read her book “Little Maine” and lead a craft project inspired by the story for children age birth to five.

“Little Maine” is designed specifically for younger ages, in board book format, and it includes topics of interest unique to the great state of Maine. For more information, call 596-5566.
