Rockland and Georges Valley track-and-field athletes may have been small in numbers, but proved big in performance during the unique May 18 “Under The Lights” Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference meet hosted by Mount Ararat High School.

The Tigers and Bucs did not have a lot of competitors at the meet, which was held at night under the lights, but the local student-athletes who participated excelled, including three top performances.

Georges Valley’s Dakota Smith, an independent athlete who trains with Rockland, finished first in the 300-meter hurdles, while Rockland’s Caitlin McMahon finished first in the long jump and Casey Hall in the 110-meter hurdles.

The individual Rockland and Georges Valley results were:

Girls 100-meter hurdles — 7, Emma Mason, 20.94.

Boys 110-meter hurdles — 1, Hall, Rock, 19.98.

Girls 100 meters — 6, Mason, Rock, 14.67; 12, Christina Carver, Rock, 15.06; and 13, Tamika Brown, Rock, 15.16.

Boys 100 meters — 7, Smith, GV, 12.74; 14, Hall, Rock, 12.97; and 38, Patrick Johnson, Rock, 14.62.

Girls 400 meters — 10, Naomi Holzhauer, Rock, 1:11.20.

Boys 400 meters — 16, Kevin Bragdon, Rock,  1:03.23.

Boys 300-meter hurdles — 1, Smith, GV, 48.44.

Girls 200 meters — 3, Mason, Rock, 30.62; and 13, Brown, Rock, 31.81.

Girls long jump — 1, McMahon, Rock, 14-2.5; and 3, Carver, Rock, 13-4.75.

Girls triple jump — 3, Carver, Rock, 28-2.

Boys javelin — 4, Smith, GV, 120-9; 11, Nate Boggs, Rock, 106-9.5; and 15, Jared Meklin, Rock, 97-3.

Boys discus — 17, Meklin, Rock, 77-5; and 29, Boggs, 64-2.

Boys shot put — 7, Meklin, Rock, 31-4; and 9, Boggs, Rock, 30-9.5.
