Boys from Cub Scout Pack 215 and their families held a Mexican fiesta to celebrate earning their Scouting rank badges on May 12 at the Thomaston Federated Church. Scouts learned words and phrases in Spanish, made maracas, learned a Spanish dance, and played piñata. Scouts and their parents participated in a face painting awards ceremony in which they were pinned with their awards.

Scouts earning their badges included:

Tiger Badge: Brandon Bodman, Samuel Collins, Dustin Glidden, Brayden Hyatt, Darik Johnson, Jordan Lawrence, Sam Vose and Nicholas Wall.

Wolf Badge: Jacob Sebring.

Bear Badge: Aubrey Johnston, Bryan Johnston, Carl Rasmussen, Sebastian Sanfilippo, Tyler Shiflett, Joshua Underdown, Dylan Williams, Cameron Young and Matthew Thomas Young.

Cub Scouts is open to all boys in grades one through five. Pack 215 serves boys in the Thomaston and Cushing communities and welcomes new members at any time. A Spring Recruitment Night will be held Wednesday, May 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Thomaston Federated Church on Hyler Street. All are welcome to come and learn more about Scouting.
