St. George residents will have an opportunity on Tuesday, May 18 to learn more about the revaluation process that has been taking place in that town.

A meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the St. George Town Office to explain the project and discuss the reasons for the revaluation. According to Town Manager John Falla, the meeting will provide a general outline of the purposes of the project and information about what to expect in the coming months.

Falla said May 13 that notices would be sent to all St. George property owners at the end of the following week, outlining the new 2009 valuations and proposed 2010 valuations, as well as the tax amounts for 2010.

While the May 18 meeting will not go into changes to the valuations of specific properties, Falla said anyone who wishes to meet with representatives from the appraisal company will have that opportunity and should contact the town office to schedule an appointment.
