Yachting Solutions of Rockport has announced the expansion of Trident Yacht Basin.

Prock Marine recently set new pilings for the 400-foot float expansion at the Rockland facility. According to a May 12 press release, Dock Master Adam Fuller has been making repairs to winter-damaged floats and construction has started on new bathrooms, laundry facilities and a lounge. These new amenities will be available to Trident customers and those renting the gazebo for events.

Rockland Harbormaster Ed Glaser said about six moorings were moved during the installation and he plans to review the layout of all moorings in the cove between Trident and the boardwalk. Glaser said those moorings that have not been in active use in recent seasons will probably be removed or relocated to accommodate Trident’s new floats.

Trident’s announcement said the installation will conclude the first phase of the marina expansion project that was recently approved by the city of Rockland and the Army Corps of Engineers. Trident Yacht Basin will eventually host 56 slips for resident boats and dockage for large and small transient pleasure yachts.

The press release said the docks offer first-class facilities and two nearby restaurants — The Boathouse and Amalfi — as well as proximity to Main Street and other Rockland amenities.
