Pamela Sue Wellington Gryspeerd died May 3, 2010, at her home in Bath after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Pam was born March 15, 1956, in Rockland and was raised in Union.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Gryspeerd; a daughter, Mary Amber Gryspeerd; a son, Perry Malcolm IV and his fiancé Heather Page, all of Bath; her mom, Mary McCluskey, who loved her so very much, and her stepdad Ellery “Mac” McCluskey of Thomaston; her sister (and best friend), Jeanette and her husband, Robert Palmer, of Waldoboro; her (favorite) only brother, Richard “Dick” Wellington and his wife, Chris, of Cushing, whom they loved going to NASCAR races together and the competition of whose driver was going to win; three grandchildren, Kailah and Brenna Malcolm and Bailey Page Nichols of Bath; and many extended family and friends who loved her.

Pam was predeceased by her dad, Keith Burns of Union (whom she could wrap around her little finger); and her niece, Kimberly Palmer.

Pam spent her life as a servant to the community. She worked for more than 20 years in social services for Midcoast Community Action and most recently as the food pantry coordinator at Midcoast Hunger Program. She treated her clients with love and respect and will be missed by all.

Pam loved her family, camping, car racing, horses and people in general. She gave of herself to everyone who knew her and always believed she got more than she gave. We will miss her terribly and promise to carry on her work in our lives.

There will be a celebration of Pam’s life on Sunday, May 23 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Owls Head Town Office. Please come and help us celebrate a wonderful life.
