After experiencing a one-goal outcome and nearly pulling off a win in its previous match, the Camden Hills girls lacrosse team struggled somewhat against more experienced host Mountain Valley in a 15-5 loss May 3.

“We struggled defensively as a team and matching up with Ayla Allen,” said Windjammer coach Jen Johnson. That might be an understatement as Allen scored 10 of the Falcons’ 15 goals.

Offensive leaders for Mountain Valley were Allen (10 goals, 2 assists), Tia White (3 goals, 3 assists), Jessica Theriault (goal) and Heather Theriault (goal). Hollie Theriault had 10 saves in goal for the Falcons.

For Camden Hills, Rachelle Grenert (goal, assisted by Monica Doucette), Seanna Kelly (goal), Hillary Gordan (goal), Jessica Uges (goal, assisted by Doucette) and Julie Beauchesne (goal) keyed the offense. Goalie Clare Bryant made five saves.

Camden Hills is 0-4 on the season.

“Rachelle Grenert and Seanna Kelly continue to support us in the offensive end [and] our fundamentals are improving steadily,” Johnson said.
