Richard E. Moore, 63, of Westborough, Mass., died April 30, 2010, at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a heroic battle with cancer.

Richard was the son of the late Richard F. Moore of Thomaston/Warren and Helene Neubauer Moore formerly of New York City. A graveside celebration of life will be held later this year in the Village Cemetery in Thomaston.

He was the husband of the late Francia (Barros) Moore. Born in Hempstead, Long Island, N.Y., he was the son of the late Richard and Helene (Neubauer) Moore. Following his primary education he attended Boston University.

During the Vietnam era he served with the U.S. Navy in North Vietnam and received the Navy Flying Cross.

Mr. Moore was employed as a senior project manager in the New Products Engineering Department at EMC.

He is survived by a twin brother, Robert Moore and his wife, Elizabeth Rimando-Moore of Westborough; three sisters, Darlene Rytter of Centerville, Va., Joanne Moore of Falmouth, Va., and Sandra Moore of Fredericksburg, Va.; five nieces and nephews, Dawn, Kari, Travis, Erin and Kyle; and five great-nephews and one great-niece, Tyler, Josh, Sammy, Justin, Gabriel and Ragan; and uncles and numerous cousins.

Calling hours will be held Friday, May 7 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. with a funeral service at 6:30 p.m. in the Rand Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.
