Winnifred June Frank, 96, died Dec. 20, 2009, at Brewer Rehabilitation and Living Center in Bangor, following a long illness.

Born in New York on Sept. 22, 1913, she was one of five children born to George G. and Clara Sanford Webster. She was educated in New York.

With her husband, George, Mrs. Frank lived for several years in Huntington Station, N.Y. She was employed as a waitress there.

Mrs. Frank had no children of her own, but she was the beloved aunt of her many nieces and nephews. She was the family historian and a great storyteller. Mrs. Frank enjoyed creating arts and craft projects. She was an avid gardener and loved to travel with her husband and family to Europe and all over the United States.

After moving to Warren, following her husband’s retirement, she was active in the community and was a longtime member of the Second Congregational Church of Warren.

In more recent years, she has resided at the Homestead in Cushing and Shore Village Healthcare Center in Rockland.

Mrs. Frank was predeceased by her husband, George W. Frank in 1979.

She is survived by one sister, Gladys R. Eastman of Rockland; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A graveside committal service will be held Tuesday, May 4 at 10 a.m at Newcomb Cemetery in Warren. The Rev. Robin Honaker will officiate.
