Eugene L. “Tooky” Morris, 77, a resident of the Port Clyde Road, died March 28, 2010, at the Knox Center for Long Term Care in Rockland after a period of failing health.

Tooky was born June 14, 1932, in New Jersey, the son of Irma Morris. He came to Tenants Harbor to live with his extended family on the Morris Farm, and attended Tenants Harbor School.

Though being challenged with several health issues throughout his life, he persevered and helped people do many odd jobs around town, including mowing lawns and helping out in the cemeteries. More recently, he enjoyed walking down to the pier and talking with folks there.

He is survived by a cousin, Mary Webb of Wiley’s Corner.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 5 at 2 p.m. at the Seaside Cemetery on Route 131/Port Clyde Road in Tenants Harbor.
