Cynthia M. Ripley, 51, died unexpectedly April 17, 2010, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Born in Camden on Dec. 1, 1958, she was the daughter of Richard L. Sr. and Theresa M. Pease Ripley. Educated in local schools, she was a 1977 graduate of Camden-Rockport High School.

She was first employed with Port Clyde Foods and worked more than six years at National Sea Products, until the closing of that plant. The following two years she worked as a nurse’s aide at Shore Village Nursing Home in Rockland. Since 1993 Cindy found fulfillment in her employment and the many friends she made as head housekeeper at the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland.

Cindy loved all her family, but was thrilled and proud to be a grandmother to her two grandchildren, Dylan and Eva. She also enjoyed walking her dogs, flower gardening and playing computer games.

She was predeceased by her stepfather, Earl C. Randall Jr. in 2007.

Cindy is survived by her loving companion of 24 years, Walter E. Chapman of Rockland; her mother, Theresa M. Randall of Camden; her father, Richard L. Ripley Sr. of West Rockport and his wife, Rebecca; one son, David W. Ripley of Rockland; one daughter, Sheena M. Lord and her husband, Scott, of St. George; two brothers, Earl C. Randall III of Camden and Richard L. Ripley Jr. and his wife, Lori, of Waldoboro; three sisters, Valerie Wood and her husband, Michael, of Florida, Elizabeth A. Roscoe and her husband, David, of Rockland and Dixie Ripley of West Rockport; two grandchildren, Dylan and Eva Lord of St. George; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit Wednesday, April 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St. in Rockland, where a funeral service will be held Thursday, April 22 at 11 a.m. Pastor Mark Holden will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in Lakeview Cemetery in Union.
