The Appleton Board of Selectmen is scheduled to present its budget to the Budget Committee on Wednesday, April 14.

According to Chairman Donald Burke, the final fiscal year 2010-11 budget is expected to be at or below the 2009-10 budget. Burke said that at the selectmen’s request, department heads all brought in requests that were the same as, or lower than, last year’s. He said Appleton’s appropriation for the Knox Regional Communications Center will be approximately 14 percent higher than last year.

The budget meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14 in the Appleton Town Hall. For more information, call the Appleton Town Office at 785-4722 between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. The office is also open from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays.
