The Rockport Select Board will meet Monday, April 12 to consider an agenda that includes a discussion of possible changes to the town charter.

Rockport resident Chris Shrum said April 5 that board Chairman Robert Duke and Select Board member Tom Farley have been acting in violation of the town charter’s provisions on conflict of interest and the decision-making process.

Duke said the proposed change to the charter would remove that obstacle.

The board will hold its final votes on the fiscal year 2010-11 budget and warrant articles for the June 9 town meeting. Members will also hear a presentation by Aqua Maine President Judy Kelley on the company’s filter plant project and a rate increase request that Aqua Maine has filed with the Public Utilities Commission.

Among other items on the agenda will be a public hearing on an application for a new malt, vinous, spirituous liquor license for Shepherd’s Pie, operated by Brian Hill and located at 18 Central St.

The Monday, April 12 meeting of the Rockport Select Board will begin at 7 p.m. at the Rockport Opera House and will be televised on Channel 22. For more information, call the Rockport Town Office at 236-0806.
