An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

The Waldoboro Police Department reported the following activity from March 31 to April 4.

March 31

Officer Sean Kozer investigated an accident on Atlantic Highway at 4:25 p.m. Peter Sayward, 45, of Appleton was driving a 2000 Ford three-axle single unit that sustained no damage. Max Mitchell, 28, of Friendship owns a 1999 Chevrolet four-door sedan that sustained $500 in damage. While in a parking lot, Sayward backed into the Chevrolet sedan, which was unoccupied. There were no injuries.

April 1

Kozer is investigating a report from a resident who had a firearm taken from his residence. Nothing else seemed to be missing.

April 2

Officer Jeffery Fuller arrested Robert Burgess Jr., 22, of Waldoboro for domestic criminal mischief.

April 3

Fuller is investigating a report of people trespassing on a resident’s property.

April 4

Fuller is investigating a report of people trespassing with all-terrain vehicles on a resident’s property.

Sgt. Jamie Wilson is investigating a report from a resident that someone broke into a second floor apartment in the building he owns.
