The 14th annual Wentworth Charities Golf Classic Tournament, an annual event of Ocean Properties, has donated nearly $1.4 million to charities since its inception in 1995. This month the Samoset Resort, a member of the Ocean Properties family and host of the event, donated $13,875 to the Rockland-based nonprofit organization Youthlinks.

Other beneficiaries included the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Jett Foundation.

Samoset Resort General Manager Cornelius Russell presented the check to the Youthlinks program April 8.

Youthlinks is a program of Broadreach Family and Community Services located in Rockland that provides after-school programs in community service, leadership and enrichment for youth ages 11 to 17 from the Midcoast. Teens in the after-school programs learn skills, build self-esteem, cultivate social responsibility, develop leadership abilities and connect to their peers, to adult mentors, and to their communities, according to the organization. After-school programs are free for participating youth. Youthlinks is funded through a combination of state grants and donations from individuals, businesses and foundations.
