Friends for Friends, a nonprofit organization designed to help those in need in local communities, is taking nominations from its members for a Senior Spring Cleanup Day.

The springtime event is to jump start the new year in the right direction. Helping senior friends is a good way to kick off spring and spread the awareness that the goal of Friends for Friends is helping friends in local communities. Members are encouraged to nominate a senior in their area who is in need of an outdoor spring cleanup. Whether it is fallen tree limbs, shrubs or hedges that need to be trimmed, a yard that needs to be mowed, or all of the above, the Friends for Friends volunteers will roll up their sleeves to help.

Friends for Friends will take nominations until Saturday, April 24. The recipient or recipients will be notified and Friends for Friends will coordinate the scheduling of the cleanup. Members can e-mail nominations to friendsforfriends@roadrunner.com and tell the story of a senior friend in need.

Not a member yet? E-mail Friends for Friends at friendsforfriends@roadrunner.com and they will send a member sign-up sheet. People can become members with a small donation and completion of the member form. Also follow Friends for Friends on Facebook.com and become a fan.
