A 47-year-old Rockland man was arrested April 6 after police said he threatened another person with a knife.

Alan Thomas was arrested and taken to the Knox County Jail and booked for criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, resisting arrest and violating a condition of release.

The incident occurred on Limerock Street at about 9 p.m., said Deputy Police Chief Wally Tower.

The man did not threaten police officers with the knife, Tower said, but did resist being arrested and tried to flee. Officers had to use physical force to subdue Thomas, Tower said.

The person threatened with the knife was not injured, Tower said.
