A written bomb threat was found in a bathroom at Medomak Valley High School on the morning of April 7, said Francis Boynton, superintendent of Maine School Administrative District 40.

Within five minutes of the discovery of the threat, the students involved confessed to writing it, the superintendent said. There was no evidence of the presence of any type of bomb.

Staff and students were never at risk given the circumstances of the threat, according to the superintendent. After consultation with local authorities, the building was not evacuated.

Charges are pending against three juveniles, and the incident is still under investigation, the superintendent said. The Waldoboro Police Department is investigating the bomb threat.
