The Rockland After-School Alliance is preparing to host a Student Summer Job Fair for Midcoast students looking for summer employment. The job fair will be held Thursday, May 6 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Rockland District High School gym.

In preparation for the Student Summer Job Fair, students are engaged in workshops in job applications, résumé writing, interview skills, time and stress management, and job etiquette.

Tables will be available for businesses at the job fair. Businesses and organizations are invited to display information and meet informally with students. Businesses can schedule formal interviews after the event.

All businesses are encouraged to attend, whether they are planning to employ several students this summer or just one. Job fair organizers want to showcase as many businesses as possible. This is a pilot event that organizers hope to make annual for area students. Employers planning to attend include Hannaford, Paolina’s Way Restaurant, Hall Landscaping, Lincolnville Boat Club and Burger King.

For more information or to reserve a table, contact Elizabeth Burrell, RASA high school site coordinator at RDHS, at 593-6667 or eburrell@rsu13.org.
