Patricia “Pat” Genthner, 66, died at Miles Memorial Hospital, with her family by her side, due to the illness of cancer, on March 28, 2010.

Born in Rockland on Aug. 22, 1943, she was the daughter of Gladys and Donald Robbins.

Pat’s hobbies included bingo, going to lawn sales, bowling, watching soap operas and the Red Sox, swimming, cooking, crossword puzzles and, most of all, spending time with her family.

She was well known by most of the community. Pat was a loving, caring, smart, funny person but also spoke her mind and never hesitated to let people know how she felt about a situation that happened or was happening — and that’s just a few reasons she was loved. She was the most thoughtful woman, never forgetting a birthday, anniversary or Christmas. She had a gift for everyone from family to friends and never forgot a single person.

Pat’s family meant everything to her. She was devoted and enjoyed spending each and every moment she could with them. She will be missed dearly by all and remembered for her great sense of humor and heart of gold.

She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Sandra Wadsworth; her father-in-law, Alfred Benner; and her great-grandson, Ashton O’Hara.

Pat is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ronald Genthner; her mother-in-law, Joyce Benner; her five children, Debbie Winchenbach, Patty Mctague and her husband, Ronnie, Cindy Reed, Robin Vultee and her husband, Erik, and Ronnie Genthner and his wife, Carrie; her brothers, Bobby, Mac, Richard, Billy, David and Donnie Robbins; her sister, Darlene Debouris; her grandchildren, Kristina, Dale and Harley Winchenbach, Chasity and Nicole Robbins, Jason Farrar, Derek Hinkley, Danielle Ward, Joshua and Bronson Simmons, and Brittany, Zachary, Lexi and Kaitlyn Genthner; her great-grandchildren, Tyler Simmons, Maykayla and Mickey Jr. O’Hara; Breanna Moody, Kalee-Ann Miller, Aleyah Keizer, Seth Benner, Shelby Lane, Nicolas Griffin, Hailey Farrar, Cheyenne and Derek Jr. Hinkley, Skylah and Ashlyn Ward, Audreena Simmons, and Aiden Genthner; her in-laws, Mike O’Hara, Kevin Keizer, Eric Benner, Lori Farrar, Steven Ward, Ashley Leonard, Megan Green, Breanna Parlin, Lyndsey Ranquist, Tyler Miller, and Jacob and Nicolas Reynolds.

There will be no funeral, upon Patricia’s request, but a celebration of her life will take place this summer as a large cookout for family and friends. When the date and place have been set, an announcement will be placed in the paper.
