It is not everyday Thomaston gets to see a homegrown professional wrestler in action. As a matter of fact, this year it may only be one day.

Georges Valley’s own Zach “Prozach” Cook returns to his hometown for the Global Impact Wrestling show on Saturday, April 10. The event will take place in the Georges Valley High School gymnasium and the starting bell will ring at 7 p.m.

“Were all just looking forward to having a good time,” said organizer Tammy Willey. “I think it’s going to be fun.”

“It’s something new and different and it’s for project graduation. Zach wanted to come back and show everybody that he did go and do wrestling,” said Willey, a family friend of Cook’s.

According to organizers, Cook, the “Submission Specialist,” will join a handful of wrestlers, including “Xtreme” Adam Hastey in a retirement match, the “World’s Largest Athlete” 7-foot-3-inch, 550-pound Bullmoose Calhoun and “Sports Illustrated Legend” Robbie Ellis.

The event is to benefit the 2010 GVHS Project Graduation.

Also planned for the night will be a special Lobster Bouy on a pole match between GIW champion Ryan Michaels and challenger Captain Freedom, along with a Special Body Slam Challenge “loser-wears-a-dress match,” and an appearance from Spongebob Squarepants.

Tickets are on sale at the high school and will be sold at the door as well. Call 372-8904 for ticket information.
