Lonza Rockland Inc. has concluded its 10th annual Cabin Fever Reliever event. During several days of team activities and friendly rivalries (culminating in the infamous Lip Sync competition), the company’s 60 employees raised $1,968 for charity. Lonza contributed an additional $2,500, bringing the total amount to $4,468.

“Team spirit and sense of community is alive and well in Rockland,” said Betty Oakes, site director, in a news release. “The creativity of this site, coupled with the generosity of the people, makes the entire week’s events very rewarding for us all.”

This year’s beneficiaries include the Humane Society of Knox County, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine, Squeaky Wheel Adventures and Youthlinks.

Located on Thomaston Street, Lonza develops and manufactures products used in molecular and cell biology research. Each year Lonza contributes to dozens of local causes through food drives, matching gifts, sponsorships, in-kind contributions and internal fundraisers.
