“Conversations with the Moon,” a show of thoughtful reflections on archetypal themes, fills the Tidemark Gallery in a show of recent work by Jane Herbert. The public is invited to meet the artists during a 5 to 7 p.m. reception Saturday, April 3.

Compelling paintings on paper and canvas build upon the mysteries of lunar cycles, migrations and love. Large canvases of moonlit scenes prompt dreamy childhood memories, adding contrast to the intimate scale and scope of diminutive pieces born of universal subjects.

Tidemark, located at 902 Main S./Route 220, is open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and by appointment. It regularly features work by member artists and friends Audrey Bechler, John Blamey, Ralph Bush, Joe Devenney, Mary Devenney, Ardy Greatorex, Holly Marie Haining, Gregory Holmes, JoEl Pottery, Emy Kanewske, Ann Makuck, Anne Wooster Metcalfe, Louise Price,  Kariska Puchalski, Wayne Robbins, Julian Sacks, Patience Sampson, Delly Schweighauser, Joyce Eames Steel and Carol Wiley.

“Conversations with the Moon” is on display through Saturday, April 24.
