The Federated Church in Thomaston, United Church of Christ/United Methodist Church announced the following upcoming services and programs.

Beginning May 2, the Federated Church services will be held at 9:30 a.m. instead of 9 a.m. This is the unanimous choice by parishioners. The church hopes the community finds this an easier hour to attend and parishioners welcome everyone with Christian love.

On March 30 at 9:30 a.m., the Women’s Group will assemble cookie plates for shut-ins. With the help of volunteer drivers and Cub Scouts, the cookie plates will be delivered to area homes and nursing homes.

On April 1, the Maundy Thursday soup and service will be held at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome. The church will be open for prayer on Good Friday from 9 to 11 a.m.

On April 4, Easter Sunday, the church welcomes everyone in the community to come and celebrate with the congregation to praise the Lord with thankfulness and song.

An ecumenical sunrise service at the town landing cross will be held at 6 a.m., with breakfast following at the Baptist Church. Sunday Easter Service at the Federated Church will begin at 9 a.m.

On April 24 from 9 a.m. to noon, the Outreach Committee will be collecting food on the Thomaston Mall to replenish the food pantry in Thomaston. Parishioners will join all United Methodist churches in a great mission for that weekend. Volunteers are needed, and should see Karen Wincapaw if they are available on that day.
