Due to recent budget cuts, the Rockland District Middle School parent group is finding that there are many teacher requests coming in for things no longer covered in the school budgets. To ensure that students get the extra activities and technology needed to enhance their school experiences, the parent group is sponsoring three fundraisers that will culminate Friday, April 9 at 6 p.m. at RDMS.

Students are gathering items to make themed baskets that will be raffled off that evening. The themes include Chocolate Lovers, Movie Night, Outdoor Fun, Gardening, and Italian Night.

All RDMS students have been given tickets to sell. Also, RDMS is hosting its first online auction. The public is invited to browse the auction online at rdmsauction.primeswd.com and either bid on or donate items. There are a variety of gift certificates available, as well as a print donated by artist Ron Frontin.

The bidding will end April 9, and winning bidders will be able to pick up their items on April 9. The April 9 event will include a silent auction featuring homemade items such as cakes, pies, knit items and fleece blankets.

The parent group would greatly appreciate the community’s involvement in these fundraisers. The more money that is earned means more activities the children will be able to participate in.
