An 18-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after the car she was driving crashed early March 27.

Alyssa Carey was flown to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor by a LifeFlight helicopter, according to Maine State Police Lt. Gerard Madden. An EMMC spokeswoman said March 29 that she had no information on such a patient.

According to the report done by Trooper Scott Quintero, Carey was driving a 2001 Pontiac  south on Cushing Road shortly after 2 a.m. when she lost control of the vehicle and it crashed. Carey was thrown from the vehicle.

There were three passengers in the car but they only suffered minor injuries.

One passenger, Corey Kundert, 21, was arrested by police and charged with violating a condition of release, Madden said.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Rockland Emergency Medical Services, and Cushing and Thomaston emergency crews also responded.
