“Brian’s Life,” a short film shot in Camden in 2008 by Cole Christine of Alna, will be screened Saturday, April 3 at the Lincoln Theatre, downtown at the corner of Theater and Elm streets.

Christine’s film is part of the Student Film Festival of works by high school and college age students 7 p.m. at the downtown venue. Also showing work will be Mark Hubbard and Ryan Poland. A Q&A session will follows the screenings. Admission is free, although donations will be welcome.

“Brian’s Life” is a dramatic narrative short Christine wrote and directed at Maine Media Workshops in Rockport. In the film, a dying man makes a final attempt to make up for missed opportunities by imparting advice to his only friend, a withdrawn young man whom he fears will make similar mistakes.

Christine made the film while attending a four-week class at Maine Media Workshops. Last fall, “Brian’s Life” won the Student Shorts Contest at the Williamstown Film Festival in Massachusetts. The film was chosen from 78 submissions in the first year of the student film category.

Christine, a freshman last fall at Bennington College in Vermont, is interning at MMW, where “Brian’s Life” will be screened during an evening of alumni films June 2.
