Pancake breakfast with Camden Lions Club

CAMDEN — Camden Lions will hold a pancake breakfast Saturday, April 3 from 7 to 10 a.m. to raise money for the scholarship program and the eyeglass payment fund for people who can’t afford an eye exam and a pair of glasses. The all-you-can eat pancake breakfast will be held at the Camden Lions Clubhouse at 7 Lions Lane in Camden (off Knowlton Street, just follow signs). The menu will include pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice for $7 for adults and $5 for children under 7 years old.

Appleton Historical Society

APPLETON — The April meeting of the Appleton Historical Society will take place Monday, April 5 at 7 p.m. at the Appleton Town Hall. Caitlin Hunter of Appleton Creamery will speak on raising goats and making cheese in Appleton. The business portion of the meeting will begin at 7 p.m., to be followed by the evening’s presentation. Appleton Historical Society dues for 2010 are $5.

WARREN — The next meeting of the Knox-Lincoln Soil and Water Conservation District will be Wednesday, April 14 at 7 p.m. at the Warren USDA Field Office, 191 Camden Road (Route 90). Medomak Middle School auction

WALDOBORO — An auction at Medomak Middle School in support of the students will be held Saturday, April 3. It will start with a preview at 5 p.m. and a silent auction. The live auction with many different items will start at 6 p.m. There will be a concession stand.

Georges River Land Trust garden tour

The Georges River Land Trust’s 19th annual Gardens in the Watershed garden tour will be held Sunday, July 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine. The garden tour will feature seven diverse, lovely gardens in the towns of South Thomaston, Thomaston and Cushing. Tickets are $25 in advance; $28 on tour day. • Tuesday, March 30 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Healing With the Senses will include five sessions covering techniques for health and well-being. Instructor Cynthia Swan will begin the series with the sense of sight. The color health class will incorporate Aura-Soma, color testing and other fun color tools. Each class is $15.

• Thursday, March 31 from 1 to 2:30 p.m.: The Free Medicare for Everyone Clinic will answer many Medicare questions, including when and where to sign up for Medicare, what services are covered, what is the new prescription drug benefit, what is Medicare Supplemental Insurance, and more.
