Tiger Outreach, a community service organization at Rockland District High School, will hold a bottle drive Saturday, March 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bottles can be dropped off at Rockland Redemption on Route 1 or at the RDHS parking lot.

To have a bottle donation picked up, call 701-8877 to contact the Tiger Outreach faculty adviser.

The bottle drive will be a major fundraiser for the group’s third annual trip to New Orleans, La. During April vacation, 11 Tiger Outreach members and two faculty chaperones will travel to the Big Easy, volunteering through the nonprofit organization lowernine.org, founded and maintained by Waldoboro native Rick Prose.

The group is eager to work tirelessly as part of the rebuilding efforts reversing the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Tiger Outreach members estimated that they need to raise at least $5,000 for their upcoming trip.
