The Skating Club of Maine Basic Skills members will show off their talents in their annual show “True Colors” on Saturday, March 27 at 2 p.m at the Midcoast Recreation Center.

The show, featuring skaters of all ages, is a local favorite that marks the end of the figure skating season in the Midcoast. This year’s show promises to be as lively and vibrant as its name suggests. Color will infuse the ice arena in music and costume.

This year the Skating Club of Maine will present Allison Johnston as the featured guest skater soloist. Johnston began skating 12 years ago at the University of Southern Maine ice arena on the Gorham campus. She continued skating at Portland Ice Arena and started working with Kristin Andrews. Johnston is currently working on her senior-level free skating and gold-level senior freestyle tests. She is a student at the USM and also coaches group lessons at the Portland and Falmouth ice arenas.

“True Colors” will showcase the club’s new Synchronized Skating team, Subzero, as well as more than 60 skaters performing to Black Velvet, Pink Cadillac, Green Eggs and Ham, and other favorites.

Tickets are $5 for children age 5-18, $8 for seniors, $10 for adults and $25 for a family of four.
