With baseball season right around the corner, Rockland Little League baseball and softball are preparing for the upcoming season and will hold both league registration and tryouts in the coming weeks.

Registration will take place Wednesday, March 24 at 6 p.m. in the Rockland District Middle School cafeteria, 30 Broadway. Registration fee is $20, and parents are required to bring their child’s birth certificate (original or official copy with raised seal) and a completed registration form.

Rockland Little League offers T-Ball, farm league and little league, with the latter two leagues offered in both softball and baseball. T-Ball is strictly baseball and is coed.

Children age 5 through 7 are eligible for T-Ball; age 7 through 11 are eligible for farm league; and age 9 through 12 are eligible for little league.

Tryouts will take place Saturday, March 27 in the Rockland District High School gymnasium, 400 Broadway. Athletes are asked to bring their glove, sneakers and comfortable clothing. Tryouts are for athletes age 9 through 12 trying out for little league only.

Softball tryouts for 9- through 12-year-olds will begin at 8 a.m. Baseball tryouts for 9-year- olds will begin at 9:45 a.m.; 10-year-olds at 10:45 a.m.; and 11- and 12-year-olds at 11:45 a.m. Children age 9 through 11 not at try-outs will play farm league and will not be eligible to play little league.
