The Camden Hills varsity ice hockey team was well represented at the 2010 Class B Ice Hockey Senior All-Star game held March 13 at the Portland Ice Arena, and the many members of the Windjammers proved to play a key role in the West team pulling a convincing victory over the East squad.

The West rolled to a 9-3 victory over the East, with six of the nine goals coming from Windjammer players and four of the six Camden Hills goals coming in the first period from senior Jeffrey Jordan. Josh Stanclift and Zac Dufour also lit the lamp for the Western team, while Wayne Neiman also played in the game for the ‘Jammers.

The Maine Class B Hockey Senior All-Star Game consists of senior varsity hockey players who are recognized for their outstanding play during the season representing the West and East Conferences. Jordan, Dufour, Stanclift, and Neiman were all selected by coaches in Class B West.

Also scoring for the West was Paddy Murphy (York) with two goals and David Figlioli (York) added one. Nick Risser (Brewer), Alex Pacheco (Brewer) and Brennen Shaw (Presque Isle) also scored for the East squad.

In addition to the win for the Western team, Camden Hills’ Stanclift also was named Forward of the Month for February in Class B West. Stanclift had six goals and four assists in five regular season games to close out the season.

“Josh played outstanding hockey, especially down the stretch of the regular season when we needed to win pivotal games to secure a playoff spot,” said Camden Hills coach Karl Enroth. “He played great two-way hockey, helping our team offensively with 10 points and also defensively in the key areas of the ice. He played in all situations as he was one of our best special teams players. We are glad the Maine Class B West coaches recognized his hard work and significant contributions to the Camden Hills hockey team.”

Camden Hills finished the regular season with a 14-4 record and ended the regular season on a 10-game winning streak. The second-seeded Windjammers fell to third-seeded Yarmouth in the first round of the playoffs, marking the first time in the history of the program the ‘Jammers had made the postseason.
