The next program of the Noon Music in Lent Series at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church, 33 Chestnut St., will be Friday, March 19. Soprano Jane Hards will offer songs of Hildegard von Bingen (12th century), John Wilbye (16th century), Martin Peerson and Antonio Vivaldi (17th century) and Franz Schubert and Felix Mendelssohn (19th century).

Some of the songs are duets or trios. Hards will be joined by soprano Rosalee Glass, soprano/organist Margaret Peet and alto/organist Jane Schroeder.

The free-will offering received will be given to the people of Haiti, through the Episcopal Relief and Development Fund. Following the half-hour program in the church, all are invited to a homemade soup, bread and fruit lunch in the Sun Room.

The series is envisioned as providing a time apart, a sabbath time, for anyone in the community, followed by the opportunity to break bread and share a simple meal.  All are welcome. All areas of the church are accessible through the Wood Street entrance.
