Richard Edward Murray III, age 72, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., died Feb. 18, 2010, at his home.

Born in Rockland, he was a son of Frances Thompson and the late Richard E. Murray. Mr. Murray had retired from the U.S. Air Force where he had served in the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his mother of Cataumet, Mass.; his wife, Isla P. “Susie” Murray; his daughter, Lisa Knop and her husband, Greg, of Ladson, S.C.; his son, Richard Edward Murray IV and his wife, Colleen, of New Cumberland, Pa.; his brother, Jim Murray and his wife, Linda, of Rockland; his sister, Linda Theberge of Plymouth, Mass.; and his grandchildren, Morgan Lane and Gregory Knop, both of Ladson, S.C., Alyson Murray of Boston, Mass., Andy Murray and Alex Murray, both of Camp Hill, Pa., and Grace Murray and Cohen Murray, both of New Cumberland, Pa.

Services were held in South Carolina. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Myrtle Beach, 500 4th Ave., Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
