When North Haven citizens gather for town meeting on Saturday, March 13, they will be offered a hot lunch and ownership of the town dock.

The 85 articles on the agenda contain the usual budget matters, as well as an opportunity to change the expiring lease agreement on the dock currently owned by Lucia Norton Woodruff and the Lamont family. If Article 74 is approved, North Haven will assume ownership of the dock that has been publicly used for years.

Town Administrator Joe Stone said Feb. 17 that a budget calling for $1.8 million in appropriations will be presented to voters on Saturday, March 13. That represents a slight increase — less than 5 percent — over the 2009 appropriation, he said.

North Haven Cares, an organization that provides information, education, support and advocacy for family and paid caregivers, will offer a midday meal the day of the meeting.

North Haven’s annual town meeting will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, in the Fitness and Wellness Center/Community Building. A copy of the warrant is available at the town office between the hours of 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., Monday through Friday, or online at northhavenmaine.org. For more information, call the town office at 867-4433.
