Russell Steven McLain Luce, 26, a resident of Washington Road, died suddenly March 8, 2010, at the Beverly Heights Hospital in Beverly, Mass., from complications from heart issues.

Russell was born June 28, 1983, in Rockport, the son of Russell Stanley and Monica Marie McLain Luce. He attended Medomak Valley High School. During his youth, he participated in basketball and baseball leagues.

In 2000, he was blessed with the donation of a heart transplant, which gave him 10 more years of bringing love to his family, expanding his family with the addition of three sons to his family’s tree.

Russell did light work with his dad, mowing lawns, cutting wood and painting. He loved to hunt and spend time with his children. His family remembers that he would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need. He was a best friend, a great son, a great father and brother, and a hero to some.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, John and Mary Luce, and Russell Luce; his paternal great-grandmother, Arlene Prior; and his maternal grandparents, Harlan G. McLain and Anna Marie Call Pavone.

He is survived by his mother and father of Waldoboro; his brothers, Brandon Luce, Travis Luce and Colton Luce; his sister, Heaven Luce; his sons, Russell Steven Luce and Hunter John Luce; a son to be born in May, Bryson Russell Steven Luce; and his companion, Ashley Frost, all of Waldoboro; his aunt, Valerie Cook and uncle, Paul Thomas Pavone, both of Beverly, Mass.; his aunt, Juanita Florent of Vermont; his uncles, Texx Luce, Duane Luce and Russell Luce III; and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A time of visitation will be held Friday, March 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St. in Waldoboro.
