Damariscotta Bank & Trust Co. announced the appointment of Ken Steele as executive vice president and senior loan officer.

“Working at DB&T I’ve seen how we can really make a difference in people’s lives. I’m proud of that,” Steele said in a news release.

Steele joined DB&T in March 1996 as assistant vice president and loan officer. He was promoted to vice president and senior loan officer in April 1998.

With more than 23 years of banking experience, Steele oversees all loans at DB&T including consumer, mortgage and commercial loans. This encompasses all aspects of underwriting, originating and collecting.

Steele received a bachelor’s degree in economics at the University of Maine at Orono. He also attended the Nathaniel Hawthorne College Bachelor’s Program in Accounting.

Steele has been involved with a number of local community groups including the Lion’s Club and the Damariscotta Region Chamber of Commerce. He is currently on the board of directors for River Arts and the Wawenock Golf Club. Steele resides in Damariscotta with his wife and daughter.
