Camden Hills Regional High School students and staff will host the second annual Day of Giving on Saturday, March 6 from 3 to 6 p.m.

Students and staff will provide free turkey dinners to the citizens of Appleton, Camden, Hope, Lincolnville and Rockport as a way of saying thanks for their support.

Specific invitations will go out to people who live in assisted living environments and families that rely on food subsidies. But the event is a true community event and people of all walks of life are invited to attend. The goal is to provide a meal for more than 400 people.

In addition to serving dinner, organizers hope to have an open gym for younger folks, musical entertainment in the Wave Cafe, and a Disney movie in the Strom Auditorium. The staff is doing the cooking and students from a variety of organizations are helping.

While the event is free, donations will be accepted on behalf of the relief efforts in earthquake-devastated Haiti.
