Virginia Collamore, 84, of Waldoboro died Feb. 21, 2010, at Woodlands Assisted Living of Rockland.

She was born May 25, 1925, in Camden, a daughter of the late Eleanor Whaley Sykes and Newell W. Sykes.

Her husband, Maurice, was a tractor trailer driver. She enjoyed traveling with him, and this gave her the opportunity to travel all over the country.

For a few years she worked at Curtis Meats as a meat packer.

Virginia was an avid reader and enjoyed completing crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Collamore Carter of North Carolina; two sisters, Ruth Leeman of Round Pond and Gloria Scott of Waldoboro; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Friday, March 5 at 11 a.m. at the Chamberlain Cemetery in Round Pond.
