Theresa Marie Calnan, 79, died Feb. 18, 2010, at Windward Gardens in Camden.

Born in Manchaug, Mass., on Sept. 6, 1930, she was the daughter of Oliver and Olivine (Valcourt) Fontaine. She married Richard C. Calnan. For many years, she worked in a hat shop in Upton, Mass. In the mid-1970s Mr. and Mrs. Calnan moved to West Rockport where they enjoyed spending time at Rockport Harbor. They assisted the harbormaster in collecting docking and mooring fees. She was a member of the Penobscot View Grange in Glen Cove. Mrs. Calnan was very talented and enjoyed working with arts and crafts.

She is survived by her sister, Sylvia Chiras of Northbridge, Mass.; her daughter-in-law, Amy Calnan Spencer and her husband, Eddy, of West Rockport; four grandchildren, Michael Calnan of Worcester, Mass., Melissa Calnan of Tampa, Fla., and Matthew Calnan and Kristen Calnan, both of West Rockport; one great-grandson, Brandon Calnan; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard C. Calnan Sr.; her son, Richard C. Calnan Jr. in 2002; and three sisters, Henrietta Forsythe, Anita Hervieux and Cecelia Masterson.

A memorial service will be held Monday, March 1 at 3 p.m. at the Long Funeral Home, 9 Mountain St. in Camden. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Lakeview Cemetery in Upton, Mass.
