Holistic health counselor Holly Noonan will present “Nutrition for a Healthy Heart: Self-Nourishment from Your Food and Your Life” on Tuesday, March 2 at 6:30 p.m. at the Camden Public Library.

“We’ll explore various strategies for heart health here and around the world and discuss why dieting doesn’t work and how to make lifestyle changes permanent,” Noonan said in a news release. “We’ll also explore how other forms of nourishment besides food contribute to long and healthy lives.”

Noonan recommended several books related to eating and health, including “The Jungle Effect” by Daphne Miller, “Healthy at 100” by John Robbins and “Blue Zones” by Dan Buettner.

“I have experienced how the clarity of mind that comes from eating well heals our relationships as well as our bodies, and helps us move forward toward fulfilling our potential,” Noonan said. “I enjoy exploring with people how they can discover — and live according to — their unique body type and thereby feel more connected to natural cycles and to the important people in their lives.”

Noonan runs a holistic nutrition counseling business in Camden. Six years of world travel followed by six years of chronic illness inform her unique approach and frame modern habits in cultural and historical context.
