An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Maine State Police responded to the following calls in Knox County from Feb. 9 to Feb. 13.

Feb. 9

Trooper Jeremiah Wesbrock assisted the Knox County Sheriff’s Office with a fatal all-terrain vehicle crash on Barrett Hill Road in Union. Wesbrock is reconstructing the crash.

Feb. 10

Wesbrock responded to a report of a family fight on Finntown Road. Investigation revealed Nathaniel Massicotte, 25, had assaulted his girlfriend and he was arrested for domestic assault and taken to the Two Bridges Regional Jail. Knox County Sheriff’s Detective Don Murray and Waldoboro Police Officer Michel Dutil assisted.

Troopers Gregory Vrooman and Wesbrock responded to a report of a domestic assault on Main Street in Warren. Investigation revealed Matthew Robinson, 25, had assaulted a relative. Robinson was arrested for domestic assault and taken to the Knox County Jail.

Feb. 11

Wesbrock, Game Warden Mark Merrifield and Knox County Sheriff’s Deputy Rob Potter responded to a report of a family fight on Toll Bridge Road in Warren. Investigation revealed an argument between a mother and son. The mother declined to press charges.

Wesbrock and Trooper Mark Barney responded to a report of a family fight on Kendra Lane in Friendship. Investigation revealed a verbal argument between a couple. No assaults had occurred and the two were separated for the night. No charges were filed.

Trooper Shawn Porter received information that Shany Lenfest-Sprague, 38, was at a residence on Upham Drive in Union and was wanted on an outstanding warrant. Lenfest-Sprague was arrested on the warrant. Also arrested was Kevin Smith, 38, for violating a condition of release. Both were taken to the Knox County Jail.

Porter spoke with Central Maine Power workers in Rockland about winter driving and updated laws.

Feb. 12

Vrooman investigated a burglary on Western Road in Warren. The caretaker of the property reported the burglary. It did not appear that anything was missing and the investigation continues.

Feb. 13

Sgt. Tom Ballard stopped to check a vehicle at Stetson Saab in Warren. Peter Johnson, 24, was summoned for operating after suspension and illegal attachment of registration plates.
