Retirement reception

On Tuesday, Feb. 23 from 4 to 6 p.m. there will be a retirement reception for Florance Merrifield who is retiring from all of her duties at the town office. This event will be held at the Hope Town Hall. Everyone is welcome to come and say goodbye to her. A special gift will be presented to her and if you would like to make a donation toward it, please call Peggy at 763-3347.

Sympathy is extended to Betty Shaw, Bob and Dianne Shaw, and Donna and Peter Wincapaw and family on the loss of their husband/father/grandfather Bob Shaw Sr., who passed away last Friday. Years ago the Shaws purchased and then ran the South Hope store. Bob was also on the planning board and cemetery committee for the town of Hope. His wish was to come home to Hope from Florida to see his children and their spouses plus his grandchildren, which he did.
