The Maine Lobster Festival announced that applications for the 2010 Sea Goddess Pageant are now available.

The Maine Sea Goddess Pageant is open to 20 young ladies who meet pageant guidelines. Any incomplete applications or applications postmarked before March 1 will not be accepted and will be returned to the applicant. The deadline for submitting applications is April 15, and any applications postmarked after that date will not be accepted.

The Sea Goddess Pageant is open to young women who expect to graduate from high school this June, or who are already high school graduates age 21 and younger. The applicants also must be Maine residents and cannot have entered the pageant in the past.

To meet pageant guidelines, a completed application will include the required sponsorship information and money, along with the applicant’s picture and a copy of her photo identification.

The Maine Lobster Festival coronation committee will review all applications for qualifications and completeness. Incomplete or non-qualifying applications will be returned to the applicant. The complete eligibility guidelines and a checklist are available online with the application form at mainelobsterfestival.com.

The 63rd annual Maine Lobster Festival will be held Wednesday, Aug. 4 to Sunday, Aug. 8, with the Sea Goddess coronation taking place Wednesday evening. Wednesday is Hometown Day and admission is free to all.
