An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Maine State Police responded to the following calls from Feb. 1 to Feb. 7.

Feb. 1

Trooper Scott Quintero investigated the report of a theft of a motor vehicle on Patten Point Lane in Spruce Head. The complainant reported a vehicle was missing from his garage. Later that day, Quintero stopped the missing vehicle on Route 73 in South Thomaston. The driver, 33-year-old Misty Waldron of Spruce Head, and her passenger, 45-year-old William Waldron (also of Spruce Head), were both arrested and charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.

Feb. 3

Troopers Chris Crawford and Mark Barney stopped Laurie Moulton, 45, on Mills Road in Rockport for an inspection violation. Moulton was summoned for operating after suspension and for failure to display a valid inspection sticker.

Feb. 5

Quintero stopped Michele Holmes, 45, of Rockland in South Thomaston. Holmes was summoned for operating after suspension.

Quintero responded to a report of a 911 hangup on Deer Run Road in St. George. His investigation revealed a verbal argument had taken place between a male and his girlfriend, but there had been no assault. No charges were filed, but both parties were warned for misuse of the 911 system.

Feb. 6

Quintero responded to a report of a loud party on Wahede Road in St. George. His investigation revealed there were a number of juveniles drinking around a campfire. A 17-year-old male from Thomaston was summoned for furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol. The parents of all the juveniles involved were called.

Quintero stopped Bert Philbrick, 51, of Rockland on Route 73 in Owls Head for speeding. Philbrick was arrested for operating under the influence, and summoned for having an open container of alcohol in his vehicle.

Sgt. David Tripp stopped Rose Peterson, 25, on Westbrook Street in South Thomaston for a vehicle defect. Peterson was summoned for operating after suspension.

Tripp stopped Stephen Brown, 40, of Northport on Dublin Road in South Thomaston. Brown was arrested for OUI and taken to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.

Feb. 7

Quintero investigated a report of criminal mischief on Stony Brook Lane in Warren. The complainant reported vandalism of a tractor. The investigation continues.

Quintero investigated the report of criminal mischief to a vehicle on Highland Road in Warren. The complainant reported damage to his 1984 GMC pickup truck, and the investigation continues.
