Local artist Hannah Nelsbach will return to the Coastal Children’s Museum Sunday, Feb. 14 from 10:30 a.m. to noon to teach children the art of collaged valentines. Children will have fun cutting, gluing and drawing.

Nelsbach has shown her works throughout the Midcoast and is noted for her vibrant colorful pieces. She previously hosted fall workshops for the museum based on her children’s book “The Fairy Tale about the Phenomenon of Indian Summer.” The workshops resulted in beautiful works of art that still hang in the art gallery at the museum at Sharp’s Point South, 75 Mechanic St.

The Valentine’s Day workshop is free; any donations will be gratefully accepted to cover materials. To make sure the museum has enough materials for each child, reserve a spot by sending e-mail to info@coastalchildrensmuseum.org; calling 385-1105; stoppin by the office between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. For more information on the Coastal Children’s Museum, visit coastalchildrensmuseum.org.

Coming up at Coastal Children’s Museum, local Music Together director and teacher Jess Day will lead a free music and movement workshop Sunday, Feb. 28 from 10 to 10:30 a.m. for children from infancy through age 9 and their families. Space is limited, so send e-mail or call to reserve spots.
